Attorney Barry P. Beletsky is a 1975 honors graduate of Colgate University, who received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Connecticut in 1979, after having been awarded the American Jurisprudence and Connecticut Law Tribune Awards from that institution. He then practiced law as a Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of New Haven, where he tried numerous criminal defendants on felony and misdemeanor charges.
As a practicing personal injury and real estate attorney in Branford, CT for more than 30 years, he has tried numerous motor vehicle accident, premises liability, product liability, pharmaceutical malpractice and civil rights cases to conclusion and has defended complex causes of action, such as the L’Ambiance Plaza disaster litigation and hundreds of Connecticut asbestos exposure product liability cases.
His current practice includes the defense of motor vehicle accidents, pharmaceutical and premises liability claims for a number of insurance companies and national corporations. His practice also includes extensive representation of individual clients in the areas of real estate, probate, personal injury and employment law.
His Appellate Court experience includes seminal decisions in the fields of contractual indemnification (Burkle v. Car & Truck Leasing Co., 1 Conn. App. 54); libel per se and wrongful discharge (Battista v. United Illuminating Co., 10 Conn. App. 486); and verdict adequacy, expert opinion and causal connection (Barrows v. J.C. Penney Co., Inc., 58 Conn. App. 225).
Attorney Beletsky also serves as a judicial arbitrator in the New Haven Superior Court.
